Dear Colleagues,

I am writing with just a few update items in this format just because Beverly is out this week and this is the easiest way for me to get information to you.

First, recall last week that I mentioned that I would be available this morning anytime between 8:30 鈥 10:00 on the covered patio (facing the plaza) at Starbucks. Please join me for 鈥渃offee with the provost鈥 (well, tea for me) during any or all of the time. The weather is still lovely so I am looking forward to having company and hopefully space enough for us to sit.

Next, I have a few information items to share. If you are teaching first year students in any of your classes this semester, you may have received an email about a new initiative we are trying this fall in support of student success. It is an early alert progress report. If you teach a class with some first year students, only those students should be on the list for you to note any concerns. As always, if you have concerns about other non-first year students in your classes, please continue to submit alerts and referrals in Navigate. I have attached an FAQ for your guidance should you find it helpful.  Please accept my thanks for all you do in supporting our students!

Speaking of student success, please mark your calendars for the upcoming 成人抖音破解版 Student Success Symposium

Forward Together: Coordinated Care for Student Success
When:
 Friday, October 3rd, 8:45 a.m. 鈥 12:00 p.m.
Where: Student Union Ballroom

The symposium will bring our campus community together to spotlight strategies and coordinated care efforts that support our students. At 成人抖音破解版, our coordinated care model is designed to create a more interconnected, intentional student experience. This approach ensures every student receives the right support at the right time. Together, we will explore how collaboration across campus can help our students thrive.

Finally, next week is Constitution week. I encourage you to take a look at all the events that our Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement  has to offer. As an example, our first Democracy Square Live! event will focus on free speech and will be hosted by our very own Grant Garber, Vice President for Legal Affairs & General Counsel. To see the full list or to register for any of their other events for the year, please go to  and explore. I hope to see you at some of these events 鈥 I definitely plan to attend as my meeting schedule allows!

Sincerely

Diana McGill, Ph.D.
