Resident Assistants (RAs) act as a liaison between  University Housing and the students that live within the residential community. RAs are responsible for facilitating an environment conducive to living and learning by way of role modeling, programmatic opportunities, maintenance referral, as well as policy enforcement. RAs are also given training in order to learn what is necessary to perform duties and responsibilities effectively.

University Housing operates two (2) 16 hour service desks (at Boothe and East Village), staffed by Student Desk and Mail Assistants. Desk and Mail Assistants are an integral part of the University Housing Office. They are employees who have direct and constant student contact. Their primary responsibilities are to act as facilitators for the residential community and are responsible for residential student mail. The Desk and Mail Assistants articulate to students the values, philosophy, and policies of University Housing and the University, and represent University Housing as a role model in all facets of University life. The two basic roles of the Desk Assistants are being a resource and an administrator.

The Student Marketing Specialist is responsible for assisting the Associate Director of Housing Operations, the Housing Marketing and Outreach Coordinator, and the Graduate Assistant for Marketing and Outreach with managing all marketing, recruitment, and outreach efforts for University Housing.

During summer months, Residence Halls may be reserved for internal and external groups interested in utilizing the campus facilities. Conference Staff members provide support to these conferences with customer service, assignment processing, an on-call duty rotation, facilities management, laundry, administrative tasks and other duties as determined to support summer operations for University Housing. Conference Staff will also play a vital role in preparing Housing for the fall semester and will be expected to assist with light housekeeping and other duties as assigned.

The Student Specialists (Housing Front Office) are responsible for assisting the Housing Assignments Coordinator with running the front office for University Housing. This includes answering phones and emails, liaising with students, families, and other constituents, answering questions, filing, managing archive materials, making copies, delivering items and correspondence to other offices on campus, and performing other office tasks as assigned.

The Assistant Residence Life Coordinator (ARLC) is an integral part of University Housing whose primary responsibility is to act as a facilitator for the student residential experience and to enhance the social, educational, intellectual, and cultural development of each residential student.

The ARLC articulates to students the values, philosophy, and policies of University Housing and the University and represents University Housing as a role model in all facets of university life. The ARLC assists with departmental opening and closing processes, facilitates community development, coordinates staff programming efforts, serves as a referral agent for students, effectively manages administrative tasks, assists in the selection, training, and supervision of undergraduate staff, and serves as a positive member of the University Housing team. The ARLC is supervised by a Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) who works in the same assigned residential area.

The Graduate Assistant for Housing Operations (GAHO) is an integral part of University Housing Operations team whose primary responsibility is to supervise the undergraduate desk and mail staff and assist with University Housing operational processes.

The GAHO, reporting to the Housing Operations Coordinator, and working directly with the Associate Director of Housing Operations, the Associate Director of Residence Life, and the Director of University Housing, coordinates the residential desks and mail rooms and provides high-level customer service to all constituents. The GAHO focuses on the selection, training, scheduling, and supervision of desk and mail assistants in University Housing, and is responsible for the daily functions of the residential desks in the Boothe Village and the East Village. The GAHO also works on stream-lining and maximizing the service provided by the residential mail rooms and delivery of mail, packages, and other correspondence. The GAHO assists with departmental opening and closing processes, serves as a referral agent for students, serves on the professional staff duty rotation (as assigned), and assesses methods and trainings for improving Housing operations.

Reporting directly to the Housing Marketing and Outreach Coordinator, the Graduate Assistant for Marketing and Outreach is responsible for assisting with marketing, recruitment, and outreach efforts for University Housing. Marketing, recruitment, and outreach includes but is not limited to: outreach and promotion of on-campus housing for current and prospective students, coordinating recruitment campaigns for University Housing student employment positions, and research regarding on-campus housing trends at state, regional, and national benchmark and aspirational institutions.

University Housing at ³ÉÈ˶¶ÒôÆƽâ°æ hosts conferences and events during the Summer term, in partnership with Conference Services, Business Operations and Auxiliary Services, Dining Services, Operations & Maintenance, and Campus Recreation. The ACUHO-I Summer Conference Coordinator, reporting directly to the Associate Director of Housing Operations, will be responsible for the supervision of Conference Managers, Conference Assistants, and (indirectly) Facilities student staff, will serve as the primary contact for internal and external conference groups, will serve in the summer on-call rotation, and will have primary oversight of conference and intern summer housing. This position will also assess best practices for conference staff and conference services at ³ÉÈ˶¶ÒôÆƽâ°æ and give input on marketing strategies for future conferences.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Residence Life, the Residence Life Coordinator is a 12 month live-on position responsible for coordinating all aspects of student development in the residential facilities at ³ÉÈ˶¶ÒôÆƽâ°æ. The Residence Life Coordinator supervises 8-18 Resident Assistants and up to 2 graduate-level Assistant Residence Life Coordinator (varies by residential community). The Residence Life Coordinator is responsible for staffing, training, supervising, and evaluating paraprofessional and graduate staff. The Residence Life Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of learning strategies and programming to residential students. This position is intended as an entry-level position for new professionals joining the Housing and Residence Life profession. This is a contract, annual 12-month live-on position typically funded for up to four years. Appointments will be made on an annual basis based on continued satisfactory performance.

The Senior Residence Life Coordinator for Leadership, Curriculum, and Training, reporting to the Associate Director of Residence Life, is responsible for advising the Residence Hall Association (RHA) and National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH); for developing, maintaining, evaluating, and annually revising the departmental residential curriculum; developing, benchmarking, and managing departmental hiring processes for all University Housing undergraduate student staff; and developing, assessing, managing, and implementing training for all University Housing undergraduate student staff. This position also serves on-call for the campus residential community, taking after-hours calls from graduate and professional residence life staff, and attends professional and student conferences for professional development and the advancement of advised organizations.

The Housing Marketing and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of marketing, outreach, and recruitment operations for University Housing at ³ÉÈ˶¶ÒôÆƽâ°æ. This position is responsible for representing the department to current and prospective students, many times in collaboration with Enrollment Management, for managing messaging and social media for the department, for conducting research and assessment regarding University Housing retention efforts, for training staff in customer service techniques, focused on the retention of students to both the department and the institution, and for recruiting students to live in University Housing. Reporting to the Associate Director of Housing Operations, this position is the public face of the department in the recruitment of new students, and the retention of current students, to University Housing, increasing occupancy and driving revenue generation. This position coordinates all training of student staff in customer service and outreach efforts, seeking to drive student satisfaction. This position collaborates on departmental assessment efforts on how to refine operations and residential outreach to maximize student satisfaction, focusing on the impact student satisfaction has in retention and recruitment efforts. This position serves as a primary and secondary point of contact for most constituents with University Housing and oversees departmental messaging, branding, perception, and outreach.
